The 49ers’ 2018 NFL draft class wound up making a much-needed impact after the 2017 class struggled in its second season. San Francisco selected nine players in 2018, eight of them were on the active roster and saw snaps in their rookie seasons, with the ninth missing the whole season with a knee injury he suffered in college.

Let’s take a look at the 49ers’ entire 2018 draft class, and how they fared in their rookie campaigns:

RT Mike McGlinchey, Round 1 (Pick 9)

There weren’t many rookie offensive linemen better than McGlinchey this season. He was a monster run blocker, and improved throughout the year in pass blocking. The latter is an area he needs to continue getting better at this offseason, but all signs in McGlinchey’s rookie season pointed to him being a foundational piece of the 49ers’ offensive line for a long time.
