This is the second time the 49ers have held it in their draft history.

The San Francisco 49ers received one compensatory pick this, earning a sixth round pick for the departure of edge rusher Aaron Lynch in free agency last year. The pick is No. 212 overall, and barring any trades, will be the 49ers final pick in the 2019 NFL Draft.

The 49ers have held the 212th overall pick once in their history. In 2000, they traded a 2001 sixth round pick to the New England Patriots to get this one. The 49ers then used it on quarterback Tim Rattay. They’ve actually had the 211th pick a couple times in recent years, spending it on running back Kelvin Taylor in 2016 and on fullback Bruce Miller in 2011. They had the 213th pick in 2016 and spent it on wide receiver Aaron Burbridge.

For kicks, I thought we’d list out the last ten players drafted with the 212th overall pick. It’s not a particularly notable list, with Anthony Chickillo and Marquis Flowers the two most significant players in the list.
