It is the popular pick, but the best pick the 49ers can make?
The NFL Draft is a little over a week away and there hasn’t been much changing on the mock draft front. It starts with the Arizona Cardinals either drafting Kyler Murray or drafting Nick Bosa. All reports indicate it’s Murray while the San Francisco 49ers reap the rewards that many call the overall best player in the draft. Would you refer to that as the dream scenario?
The folks over at Pro Football Focus put together dream scenarios for each team, should a player (believably) be there for them. The Cardinals have Kyler Murray as the dream scenario. Murray is also a dream scenario for the Oakland Raiders should the Cardinals go in a different direction.
The 49ers’ dream scenario is none other than Nick Bosa. Not only is he who people think the 49ers may draft, but PFF says this is a slam dunk:
The No. 2 player on PFF’s draft board. He’s as clean as it gets on the field.
That’s pretty much it. Following the 49ers, Bosa is also the dream scenario for the New York Jets. PFF says it would be possible if a quarterback hungry team were to trade into No. 2. Outside of the Cardinals passing on Murray, that probably won’t happen. Dwayne Haskins has been falling as of late and a team with the ammo to trade up to the No. 2 slot seems a bit unlikely.
