If Rosen is not on the trade block, that could mean Bosa for the Cardinals

Over the next month there are going to be a bunch of rumors that are surrounding what the Arizona Cardinals are going to do with the number one overall pick in the NFL draft. This directly impacts what the San Francisco 49ers will do with the very next pick. At the owners meetings, an executive made a good point about the upcoming workouts:

“The [start of Arizona’s] offseason program will be interesting,” he said. “I’d imagine if [the Cardinals] are going to do something, there’s going to be some pressure before today and when he’d [Rosen] normally be expected to be in the building.”

The key date here is April 8th. That’s the date Arizona officially begins the voluntary phase of its strength and conditioning program. With a new staff in place, you’d expect your starting QB to be around his teammates and at the team facility. The players won’t be throwing or doing football related activities, but from a leadership and interaction perspective, the quarterback should be there.

The Cardinals have already pushed this date back once. They would have to drum up quite the excuse if Rosen isn’t at these workouts. That extra week likely helped Arizona work on any trade deals surrounding Rosen.

We know what this means for the Niners. If Rosen is dealt, the team now gets to their choice of any player in the draft they are interested in. The longer Rosen is on the roster, is it more likely he will remain a Cardinal? We shall see how this unfolds over the next few weeks.
