What the heck is going on in Arizona?

Back and forth, back and forth. On Sunday, reports came out that Arizona Cardinals head coach Kliff Kingsbury was saying Kyler Murray to the Cardinals was a done deal. Of course that wouldn’t last long. Days later and reports on what the Cardinals are planning are flying.

Well on his Kingsbury Chronicle podcast, Kingsbury said they don’t have any idea who the Cardinals are choosing. When asked if he knew who the first pick in the 2019 NFL Draft was he was quick to say:

“No, no, it’s 50 days out. I don’t think any of us have a clue at this point, but it’s fun to hear how I’ve said I do and that it is a done deal and all of those things. So you just roll with it and enjoy this process.”

They went further and brought up the report in question and Kingsbury shot it down:

“Yeah, just rolling around Indy saying, “It’s a done deal.” I would have to adamantly deny that.”

Don’t think this is the end of the Murray speculation or rumors. This is just the simple volleyball on the first pick we’ve come to expect. Everyone is trying to find something on this story and with six weeks left until the draft, there’s going to be some reports coming out on just the opposite. The Cardinals have been playing back and forth with this since the beginning and it all started with praise Kingsbury gave to Murray the week before Texas took on Oklahoma, where Kingsbury was coaching and Murray was playing.

The Cardinals may very well take Nick Bosa and ruin many 49ers’ fans dreams, but this speculation game is far, far from over.
