If his kid winds up an even better player than him, the Gore family will be to running backs that the Mannings are to quarterbacks.

For those of you new to the program, I’ll reiterate that Niners Nation is a big, big, BIIIIIG Frank Gore house. The Buffalo Bills running back became a household name with the San Francisco 49ers, insofar being the heart and soul of the team since being drafted up until his departure in 2015. We’ll be following the twilight of Gore’s career as the 2019 season gets going. Though to be fair, “twilight” isn’t the word to describe it as Frank Gore’s career may outlive most of us. He’s that durable.

But when Gore is done, the second generation of Gore men will take over, and that means Gore’s son, Frank Gore Jr., will be making his marks on the football ranks.

The elder Gore just retweeted video of his kid tearing up the field like a boss. The younger Gore is becoming one of the best running backs in the state of Florida and given the company, could be getting some visits from the best colleges in the country. It also brings two questions: Can he surpass his father, and would the 49ers find a way to bring him in once he’s eligible?

Gore went to the Miami Dolphins in 2018 with intents of being closer to his family. The stint only lasted a year and now he’s with the Buffalo Bills. He might be out of Florida, but he’s still somewhat close by, being on the eastern side of the country as opposed to say, coming to Santa Clara.

While Gore is finishing his career, his son’s is just getting started. Sometimes you wait a decade or two before seeing the next generation of talent from a specific player, but it speaks volumes that when Gore retires we may have just four years until his son gets ready for the Combine.
