The San Francisco 49ers’ injury report is out for Thursday, with plenty of changes from Wednesday’s report. Let’s start at quarterback.

Starting quarterback Brock Purdy remained a limited participant with a toe injury. Meanwhile, Mac Jones, who was seen throwing at practice, was a full participant after being limited on Wednesday with a knee and oblique injury. Purdy will get as long as he needs to get healthy ahead of kickoff. As of now, Jones is in the driver’s seat for another start.

Ricky Pearsall was once again a DNP as he continues to recover from a knee injury. Pearsall wasn’t the only receiver who didn’t practice. Marquez Valdes-Scantling was a new addition to the injury report. He has a calf injury. Per Matt Maiocco, Valdes-Scantling will miss a couple of weeks.

Jauan Jennings and rookie Jordan Watkins were once again limited. Jennings is listed with an ankle, rib, and shoulder injury. Skyy Moore was limited after he was a DNP with an ankle injury on Wednesday. MVS’s injury might force the Niners to play Moore, especially if Pearsall remains out. Regardless, Watkins should see a bigger role with Demarcus Robinson still looking a bit rusty after missing three games.

Dominick Puni sat out of Wednesday’s practice with a knee injury. He was upgraded to limited on Thursday. It’s been a rough start to the season for the second-year pro, who is visibly hindered by his injury. Rest during the week might be the best thing for Puni.

George Kittle was also limited. We’ll have more quotes about how he feels about the struggles of the 49ers’ running game. Kittle fully expects to play on Sunday, but he acknowledged it’s up to Kyle Shanahan to give him the green light. It’s National Tight Ends Week—Kittle’s playing.

Defensive tackles CJ West, Kalia Davis, and Kevin Givens were upgraded from limited to full participants. Cornerback Renardo Green was limited for the second day in a row with a neck injury.
