A potential 49ers draft pick appeared to work out with a 49ers legend. Ole Miss wide receiver AJ Brown posted a photo on social media with Jerry Rice after what appears to be a workout. He also thanked Rice for inviting him to his “stomping grounds.”

Brown appears to be an ideal fit for the 49ers in this year’s draft, but it’s far from a guarantee San Francisco will be in a position to draft him.

It’s hard to find a lot of flaws with Brown as a prospect. He has good size at 6-0, 229 pounds, and he’s versatile enough to play in the slot or outside. His production as a sophomore eclipsed his teammate DK Metcalf’s career numbers. Brown put up 2,984 yards and 19 touchdowns on 189 catches in three seasons. He posted back-to-back 1,000-yard campaigns to finish his college career.

Rice played an integral role in amplifying  rumors this offseason that Antonio Brown wanted to play for the 49ers. His workout with AJ Brown doesn’t signal any interest from the team, but it is a small look into the 21-year-old’s work ethic and goals that he’s already putting in time with the best receiver in NFL history.
