Questions lingering over the 49ers will keep confidence in the team moving into the 2019 season from rising to unreasonable levels. However, the crew at Good Morning Football is high on Kyle Shanahan’s club as training camp inches closer.

While the trio of Kate Adams, Nate Burleson and Kyle Brandt aren’t ready to crown the 49ers, they all see the pieces in place for San Francisco to compete at a much higher level this year than they have in Shanahan’s first two seasons.

On the surface that’s obvious, just by virtue of the team being healthier going into the year. However, the idea of the 49ers chasing down the Rams seems a bit far-fetched.

Brandt appears to be in on the idea. For San Francisco to pull that off, they’d need to stay in great health with their rookies and offseason additions to all contribute right away. The pathway isn’t wide, but it’s certainly visible.

Winning the NFC West should be the 49ers’ goal, but it may be a bit too lofty for a team with so many unproven commodities across the roster. On the other hand, it’s not completely out of the question if a couple things go their way, and that’s much better than they could’ve hoped for in December.
