The 49ers’ 2019 rookies won’t officially take the field in a 49ers uniform until August 10 when they open their preseason schedule. Their top two picks got to sport the uniform a bit early though thanks to the NFL Players Association Rookie Premier.

No. 2 overall pick Nick Bosa, and No. 36 overall pick Deebo Samuel attended the event as the 49ers’ representatives. They were among 40 players from across the 2019 draft class to attend the event where players get a chance to don their team’s colors as part of a day with photoshoots and meetings with potential business partners.

This isn’t the first time they’ve put on the helmet or colors. They got to do so at the team’s rookie mini-camp, but those aren’t the team’s official uniforms.

Here’s what they look like in their home red jerseys with the helmet and gold pants.

While we didn’t get to see Bosa pursue a quarterback, we did get to see him imitate one – and it wasn’t bad!

The 49ers are hoping Bosa makes a name for himself sacking quarterbacks rather than becoming one, but hitting that target from that distance is impressive nonetheless.
