There are several positions-of-need that the 49ers can effectively address in the 2019 NFL Draft — most notably at edge rusher. There is plenty of talent that can be found both near the beginning and the end of the first round, which is most likely the main reason why John Lynch and Kyle Shanahan decidedly skipped out on addressing this critical need in the 2018 NFL Draft.
It’s interesting that they have San Francisco selecting Arizona State wide receiver N’Keal Harry with the 13th overall selection. Here’s what PFF had to say about the pick.
Harry is yet another big-bodied receiver in this draft and he adds a fine complement to the current receiving corps in San Francisco. He can make contested catches or create after the catch as he’s forced nine missed tackles on his 26 receptions this season.
If things transgressed as they do in PFF’s mock, it’d be more likely for the Niners to address their defensive needs before drafting a receiver. Dante Pettis has shown flashes so it wouldn’t make a ton of sense to spend a 1st round pick on a wide receiver unless there was Julio Jones-esque potential.
