  • 49ers GM John Lynch told reporters that the team is still looking for a franchise quarterback, but that doesn’t mean they have to draft one with the second overall pick.
  • Pittsburgh QB Nathan Peterman, Miami (Fla.) QB Brad Kaaya and Tennessee QB Joshua Dobbs, on the other hand, should be drafted in the third to fifth round range. They rank 105, 115 and 194, respectively, on PFF’s latest Draft Board.
  • Peterman and Dobbs have a comparable adjusted completion percentage profile, but Kaaya lags behind with situational accuracy under pressure and throwing deep.
  • Peterman leads all quarterbacks with a 60.7-percent adjusted completion percentage on throws 21-30 yards downfield.
