The 49ers’ preseason schedule hasn’t been released, but there’ll be a familiar sight on their exhibition slate once it does come out. NBC Sports Bay Area’s Matt Maiocco reported the team will travel to Denver for one game, with joint practices at the Broncos’ facility.

San Francisco and Denver didn’t face each other in the 2018 preseason because they were slated to play in the regular season. They played in ever preseason from 2012-2017 though, and they’re set to do so again in 2019.

The 49ers topped the Broncos 20-14 in the regular season at Levi’s Stadium last season. That was the day George Kittle went for 210 yards in the first half.

Denver will have a new head coach and offensive coordinator who’re both familiar to the 49ers. Their new head coach is former 49ers’ defensive coordinator Vic Fangio. Their offensive coordinator is former 49ers’ quarterbacks coach Rich Scangarello.

The combined practices give the teams an opportunity to compete in a controlled practice environment and go against an opponent in drills they’ve been doing against their teammates all summer.

A full preseason slate of opponents with possible game dates should be issued sometime in mid-April.
