Both of them make plenty of sense

Rumor time.

Bleacher Report’s Matt Miller—fellow San Francisco 49er fan—has a podcast called Stick to Football. In the latest episode, Miller said that the Niners are interested in two receivers if they are available in the second round. Here’s what Miller had to say:

“I will say, man, sometimes I don’t tell you guys everything I hear because I’ve got to keep some stuff back to myself,” Miller said during the most-recent Stick to Football podcast. “I’ve heard if N’Keal Harry’s gone, Deebo’s their guy at 36.”

That makes plenty of sense. We’ve done one writeup on Arizona State’s Harry. I was there and sitting right across from general manager John Lynch and VP of Personnel Adam Peters. All eyes were on the 6’2, 228 pound receiver. Harry ran the 3-cone drill after his workout, debating with his agent on whether he should do the drill or not. It turned out to be a wise decision, as most scouts had Harry timed between 6.93-6.97.

South Carolina’s Deebo Samuel feels like a Kyle Shanahan fit. A player that is incredible with the ball in his hands, but a lot better route runner than given credit for. Which pairs well with his athleticism. I don’t want to get too much into Samuel, as we’ll have something on Samuel later today.

This is news because Miller does have a source in the 49ers scouting department. So he’s definitely hearing something.
