Dallas Cowboys v San Francisco 49ers

NFL Network’s Tom Pelissero reported that Odum will miss anywhere between 2-4 months

The 49ers dominated their opponent for the third consecutive game. Unfortunately, the Niners lost another key player on the roster for the foreseeable future. Safety George Odum suffered a torn biceps during last night’s game, per NFL Network’s Tom Pelissero:

Multiple members from the 49ers beat confirmed Odum’s injury. That’s a wide recovery window. Anywhere from two to four months is the difference around the first round of the playoffs to the NFL Combine.

The broadcast during the 49ers and Seahawks game called Odum the 49ers best special teams player. That information is coming from the Niners coaching staff, so Odum won’t be an easy replacement. He led the NFL in special teams tackles in 2022.

Getting Samuel Womack and Darrell Luter back added some much-needed speed and athleticism to the coverage units. That duo must step up in Odum’s absence.

Odum will likely head to the injured reserve and open up a roster spot. So San Francisco will have the weekend to evaluate a safety and fill Odum’s spot on the 53-man roster.
