Punter news!
The 49ers will be on the market for a new punter. Bradley Pinion plans to leave the 49ers and sign a four-year deal with Tampa Bay, per Dan Graziano of ESPN.
PUNTER NEWS! Free-agent punter Bradley Pinion plans to leave the 49ers to sign a four-year deal with the Buccaneers, per source. Pinion was the Niners’ 5th-round pick in the 2015 draft and also handled kickoffs in San Francisco.

Pinion was at the end of his rookie deal. San Francisco finished 24th in the league in net punting and tied for 21st in the league for punts that went inside the 20. Needless to say, Pinion is replaceable. Pinion did handle kickoffs as well. So maybe Stanford kicker Jake Bailey, or a free agent with a big leg can come in and fill that void for the 49ers.
In related news, Tampa Bay released their punter. Likely the corresponding move.
Source: The #Bucs released punter Bryan Anger, who was due about $3M this season.

Tampa Bay was 21st in net punting, and dead last when it comes to punts that landed inside the 20. I’m going to go out on a limb here and say that Anger won’t be replacing Pinion.
Did the 49ers do the right thing by letting Pinon walk?
