Gould has pulled his contract proposals

According to Adam Schefter:

In a turn of events, 49ers’ franchise kicker Robbie Gould has pulled his contract proposals that he sent to San Francisco and told the team he will not negotiate or sign a long-term deal with them, and he would like to be traded, Gould said Tuesday.

There are plenty of people that felt it was odd to franchise a kicker to begin with. This has been a bizarre situation this offseason. The San Francisco 49ers showing interest in New England Patriots kicker Stephen Gostkowski made the situation even more strange.

So now, two days before the NFL draft, general manager John Lynch is presented with another issue I’m sure he was going to deal with after this upcoming weekend. The timing could not have been any worse. Perhaps this will work out and the team will be able to get some sort of compensation during the draft for Gould, and use it to trade up or get a piece that can help the team in other areas.
