Don’t read into this. At all.

It’s been a strange couple of weeks for the San Francisco 49ers and kicker Robbie Gould. First Gould is franchised and the 49ers try to work out an extension, then he’s requesting a trade, and Kyle Shanahan is admitting the 49ers get the stellar kicker for one more year. This all stems from Gould wanting to be with his family, located in Chicago. In any case, he’s not going anywhere for one more year.

What story you want to believe is up to you, but in the meantime, Gould has listed his Illinois mansion for sale per realtor.com. This large residence can be yours for the low, low price of $1.15 million. And if you think that’s too much, remember, Gould bought the house for $1.2 million in 2009. Really, the house price isn’t what was so interesting as what it looked like inside. Pictures are in the link above if you want a look at this sweet pad.

Now if you look at the realtor selling it, per the Mercury News, you’d see a name, Tim Ratty. On first glance you’d think that’s former 49ers quarterback Tim Rattay, but he’s off in Washington coaching quarterbacks. It would have been rather amusing if a former 49ers quarterback was selling your house for you.

Given all the reports on the contrary, I doubt that this sale has anything to do with a possible move to the Bay Area. Gould had the home listed last year for $1.29 million but it looks like he wasn’t able to find anyone interested.

While we can all hope this home sale is for the Gould family to come to the Bay Area, that’s just wishful thinking at this point.
