Go ahead … snoop around!

The NFL free agency negotiation window opened at 9 a.m. PT today, and will continue until 1 p.m. PT on Wednesday. It brings us a host of rumors, with some deals effectively done, and other players making the rounds visiting numerous teams.

The San Francisco 49ers have reportedly agreed to terms on a four-year contract with linebacker Kwon Alexander. The deal is not official until Wednesday, but the 49ers have a player to partner with Fred Warner.

We are seeing some responses to it, but one that is worth noting is free agent safety Earl Thomas. One of the best parts of free agency is snooping on social media to see how potential targets might be acting towards your favorite team. And it would appear Thomas is at least moderately intrigued by the 49ers. He liked Kwon Alexander’s excited tweet following word of his move to the 49ers. Additionally, he has started following Alexander and 49ers GM John Lynch on Twitter.

All of this could mean absolutely nothing in the bigger picture, but it won’t stop us from speculating about WHAT COULD IT POSSIBLY MEAN?!?!?!

Whatever it means, it’s still going to cost the 49ers a pretty penny if they want to sign Thomas. He wants to be the highest paid safety in the game, and now that Landon Collins has reset the market, it’s going to be interesting to see where Thomas’ market goes.

On a slightly related note, good to see the newest Niner joining the OBJ recruiting drive.
