Pencil another Bosa pick for the 49ers

We are 73 days until the 2019 NFL Draft, which means we have plenty more mocks to get through. Things continue to stay consistent on the top-three picks and that should change little until the NFL Combine gets going in a couple of weeks. We have another mock draft today, put together via Sporting News’ Vinnie Iyer and it’s not much that we haven’t seen before.

Iyer sends Quinnen Williams to the Arizona Cardinals, a pick that is starting to get some traction. Here’s what he says about the pick:

The Cardinals need to rebuild offensively along the line and at wide receiver for new coach Kliff Kingsbury, but the value at the top of the draft is at defensive line, where they can bolster their front for Vance Joseph. The new defensive coordinator inherits a stud edge rusher for his 4-3 defense in Chandler Jones, but this is a chance for Steve Keim to get a massive (6-4, 295 pounts), explosive inside disruptor. It’s hard to ignore Williams’ Aaron Donald-like upside after his meteoric rise through his final college season.

Of course, the Williams pick opens things up for Nick Bosa to go to the San Francisco 49ers. As you know, the position, need, and fit could not be any better. Here’s what Iyer says about Bosa to the 49ers.

If the Cardinals take Bosa, then the 49ers might end up with a tough decision between Williams and edge rusher Josh Allen. (And it that case, they could shop this pick.) Bosa, however, would be a no-brainer if he falls them. Pro Bowl tackle DeForest Buckner had a breakout pass-rush season, and fellow first-rounder Solomon Thomas found another gear after he slid inside. Bosa is a sleek edge force (6-4, 262 pounds) with even more upside than brother Joey.

Interestingly enough, the New York Jets, who sit at No. 3, do not take Josh Allen with this pick, instead they grab Alabama offensive tackle Jonah Williams. Josh Allen goes to the Oakland Raiders at No. 4. So Oakland offloaded Khalil Mack for a boatload of picks and get his replacement the very next year. And for you quarterback-curious folk out there, Dwayne Haskins falls to the New York Giants at No. 6.

Either this or Josh Allen/Quinnen Williams pick seem to be the consensus for the 49ers going into the NFL Combine so it will be interesting to see how the mock drafts shape up in the next two weeks.
