Secondary, anyone?

Nobody saw this one coming. The San Francisco 49ers traded back six spots in the fourth round. Some were upset because there were a couple of safeties on the board. Alabama’s Deionte Thompson was available, but the 49ers passed on him and some other players for Punter Mitch Wishnowsky. As always, Twitter didn’t disappoint.

For what it’s worth, Wishnowsky ran a 4.63 40-yard dash. That’s impressive for most positions. Especially so for a punter. That shows in his highlights.

Now, for some GIFs:

If you thought we weren’t going to see a Michael Scott GIF…

Apparently, Wishnowsky is a stud. Jim Nagy—who runs the Senior Bowl—had this to say:

Scouts usually don’t stick around at pro-days for specialist workouts but they did yesterday for @Utah_Football P Mitch Wishnowsky. West coast scouts say it was best punter workout they’ve seen in years. Similar leg talent to @Seahawks rookie All-Pro Michael Dickson. #Aussie
