There’s a lot of things to get excited about seeing for 2019. What are you most looking forward to?

We’re a long ways off from San Francisco 49ers OTAs but there is so much being added, fixed, and coming back (from injury) that I feel like a kid on Christmas. What is the most intriguing thing to see?

The first thing that sounds interesting is not just seeing Jimmy Garoppolo coming back from injury—and having a year of studying the playbook as well—but also seeing this offense we got screwed out of in 2018 when Jerick McKinnon unfortunately tore his ACL. No fault on McKinnon, the situation just prevented us from seeing the opened up playbook Kyle Shanahan had. Now that Tevin Coleman is on the roster and the 49ers have all sorts of wide receivers, I just want to watch the offense. Especially when Coleman is saying Shanahan’s offense is even better.

But zeroing in, Jimmy Garoppolo is someone I’d like to see. Can he hold up? Did he master the playbook? Going around, the wide receivers are something else as are the running backs. I want to see those formations. Seeing Deebo Samuel and Dante Pettis lining up and tearing up the field sounds amazing.

The one thing I am looking forward to seeing? The defensive line. In 2019, the line won’t be transformed into an absolute behemoth, but there should be some improvement. In 2020 we might be talking about one of the best defensive lines in football. But in 2019, I’m looking for big things. With Mitch Wishnowsky’s capability of deep punts, the defensive line can feast on a limited playbook for opposing offenses and I think that’s where they will be most effective. There’s not a specific position I want to see out of there, if you’re near the line of scrimmage, you’re looped in.

What are you most looking forward to off the 49ers? A position? A unit?

Or is it just the punter?
