The 49ers in 2023 fell short of their ultimate goal of lifting the sixth Lombardi Trophy in franchise history. It wasn’t for a lack of talent though. There was an argument to be made during the year that San Francisco was the NFL’s best team. They had star power on both sides of the ball and saw a couple of players who may not have been considered stars entering the year step into that type of role.
Given that they were the No. 1 seed in the NFC and went to the Super Bowl, it’s not a huge surprise that the 49ers are featured prominently in the Pro Football Focus list of the top 101 players of 2023.
