NFL: Preseason-Denver Broncos at San Francisco 49ers

The 49ers made a few moves ahead of their matchup with the Commanders.

The San Francisco 49ers are set to face off against the Washington Commanders on the road in Week 17, looking to bounce back from a loss against the Baltimore Ravens on Christmas.

However, they’ll be doing so without some key players, as the 49ers ruled out defensive tackle Arik Armstead (foot, knee), safety Ji’Ayir Brown (knee), wideout Jauan Jennings (concussion), offensive tackle Jaylon Moore (concussion), and tight end Ross Dwelley (ankle) on Friday.

On Saturday, the 49ers ruled out another player: wideout Danny Gray, who had his practice window opened this week for the first time since going on Injured Reserve.

As a result, the 49ers are calling up two players from the practice squad for Sunday’s game: safety Erik Harris and wide receiver Tay Martin.

Harris was called up last week after the injury to safety George Odum, and now could be relied upon as depth with starter Ji’Ayir Brown out.

Martin slots in as receiver depth, as the 49ers will now be down two of their active wideouts in Jennings and Gray.

With an injury-riddled week, the 49ers did get some good news, however, as left tackle Trent Williams was not on the injury report on Friday. He sustained a groin injury against the Ravens.
