The San Francisco 49ers will rest quarterback Brock Purdy against the Los Angeles Rams on Sunday with their No. 1 NFC playoff spot secured, coach Kyle Shanahan said Wednesday. Sam Darnold will be the starter.
The Rams, who clinched a wild-card berth last week, will also sit Matthew Stafford in favor of veteran Carson Wentz.
“Brock’s the only guy for sure I don’t plan on playing,” Shanahan said.
