The San Francisco 49ers announced on Thursday that they have waived WR Bruce Ellington.
Ellington (5-9, 197) was originally selected by San Francisco in the fourth round (106th overall) of the 2014 NFL Draft. In three years with the team, he appeared in 26 games and registered 19 receptions for 215 yards and two touchdowns to go along with seven rushing attempts for 35 yards and one touchdown. On special teams, Ellington tallied 50 kickoff returns for 1,279 yards (25.6 average) and 42 punt returns for 325 yards (7.7 average).
