NFL: Tennessee Titans at Houston Texans

Trust the better quarterback

The NFL playoffs kick off Saturday afternoon, and we’re in for potential fireworks between the Cleveland Browns and the Houston Texans.

These two teams met on Christmas Eve. Joe Flacco threw the ball 42 times for 368 yards. Amari Cooper had the game of his life with 11 receptions for 265 yards and two touchdowns. The Browns blew out the Texans 36-22.

Houston didn’t have the services of the C.J. Stroud. Davis Mills and Case Keenum were under center, and the two combined for 178 passing yards. I’m going to go out on a hunch and say that Stroud throws for more yards today.

Neither team had much success running the ball three weeks ago. The Browns have struggled to run the ball consistently all season. That’s expected when you’re without Nick Chubb.

I like DeMeco Ryans to pick up a playoff win today. Not only does he get a second crack at the same team in three weeks, but he’ll have his quarterback this time around. Plus, the Browns don’t have a reliable kicker. When you’re playing with a backup quarterback and running back, that’ll prove to be costly. So will Flacoo’s inevitable turnovers.
