While free agency is rightfully taking over headlines, the NFL draft is quickly approaching. With the Senior Bowl and the NFL Draft Combine in the past, the San Francisco 49ers will have the chance to zero in on certain players who could be on the board when they’re on the clock in April.
It wouldn’t be a surprise if the 49ers turn their attention to the defensive back class in the upcoming draft. A Pac-12 cornerback is reportedly scheduled to have a visit with the 49ers before the draft.
According to Justin Melo of the Draft Network, Washington State cornerback Chau Smith-Wade has a top-30 visit scheduled with the 49ers and the New York Giants. Smith-Wade had formal interviews with the 49ers at the NFL scouting combine, per Melo.
