This would have been higher if not for the misses on their first two picks.

It usually takes a few seasons to judge how each NFL team performed at the most recent draft. There are always a few picks who come in and have an immediate impact, like Nick Bosa did with the San Francisco 49ers last season. But, most of the time, you can’t gauge a particular draft class until the players have spent a few years in the league.

We didn’t know what to expect from general manager John Lynch and head coach Kyle Shanahan when they took over the Niners during the offseason leading up to the 2017 NFL Draft.

The Athletic’s Dane Brugler went back and ranked each NFL teams 2017 Draft class after three seasons, and listed the Niners No. 8.

Here is a list of the picks the 49ers made:

First-round: DL Solomon Thomas (No. 3)

First-round: LB Reuben Foster (No. 31)

Third-round: CB Ahkello Witherspoon (No. 66)

Third-round: QB C.J. Bethard (No. 104)

Fourth-round: RB Joe Williams (No. 121)

Fifth-round: TE George Kittle (No. 146)

Fifth-round: WR Trent Taylor (No. 177)

Sixth-round: DT D.J. Jones (No. 198)

Sixth-round: DL Pita Paumopenu (No. 202)

Seventh-round: CB Adrian Colbert (No. 229)

It was an easy choice, but Brugler gave Kittle the title of being the player from the 49ers’ draft class, as well as providing the best value. Brugler listed Thomas as his biggest miss:
