The 49ers have six of their eight draft picks officially signed to their standard rookie contracts. Fourth-round pick Mitch Wishnowsky, a punter from Utah, was the first 2019 draft pick to sign Tuesday. Five other picks signed Friday according to a release from the team.

Here are the 49ers’ draft picks who have signed their rookie deals, with the five from Friday’s announcement in bold:

Round 3 – WR Jalen Hurd
Round 4 – P Mitch Wishnowsky
Round 5 – LB Dre Greenlaw
Round 6 – TE Kaden Smith
Round 6 – OT Justin Skule
Round 6 – DB Tim Harris

First-round pick Nick Bosa and second-round pick Deebo Samuel are the only rookies who remain unsigned.

Rookie deals are all four years and the dollars are scaled based on draft position. The hangups in rookies signing generally have to do with contract language regarding the minutiae of the distribution of that money.

Some rookies do hold out into training camp, but that’s generally unwise because of the significant learning curve upon entering the NFL. The players should be at the facility for rookie mini-camp and other offseason activities.
